This song is a tale of the 'Daffodil Girl' who is portrayed as an extremely beautiful but rather narcissistic character and someone who, out of jealousy and potentially rejection, is intending to brutally murder her. The song works through this in chronological order, leaving her 'face down in a ditch' towards the end of the song. It has both the message that the concept of 'pretty privilege' is not always as it seems and that some people out there have messed up ideas of emotional retaliation.
